We ask the County Commissioners to change the current regulations regarding backyard hens not being allowed in Marion County to match to match that of ORDINANCE BILL NO. 8-12 for the City of Salem. This would allow county island residents to apply for a license allowing them to keep up to 5 hens as pets and for eggs only in coops in thier backyards. This would allow residents the same rights and access of their neighbors in the city and county, as well as neighboring counties.
