Please can you confirm where this figure of 600 trucks per day has come from? If this is correct, the proposal will nearly double the amount of HGV traffic, which should be enough to seriously strengthen any campaign against this proposed development?

A copy of the responses from my questionare which was provided at the AD Plant Exhibition.
1. Do you have any comments on the overall design and layout of the site?
No. I find it staggering that this proposal has been made, as it will essentially sandwich the residents of Admiralty Quay between two significant industrial estate developments. Consequently I have no comments over the overall design and layout other than to oppose the proposal in its entirety.
2. Do you have any suggestion for the cladding and the colour of buildings to help minimise visual impact?
The impact can only be minimised by leaving the site as a green field.
3. Do you welcome the 63 (Measuring 10 x 10 metres) proposed allotments on the site and do you think this is the right number to meet local need?
No. I have no requirement for an allotment. I am unsure if the “welcoming of allotments” is a big enough issue to detract from the subject of destroying the green field site to develop industrial units and a smelly AD plant on unsuitable land. A few allotments will not detract from this.
4. Do you have any suggestions for how the green areas including the orchard, wetland, gardens and landscaping could be improved?
It seems that Barker-Mill and Trant are disillusioned enough to feel that the promise of allotments and dog walking areas will in some way soften the plans for an unsightly, smelly and potentially hazardous development. This development will also bring additional heavy traffic within less than 150 metres away from a residential area.
At the exhibition, Trant and Barker-Mill provided “lush green” artist impressions showing trees that would take several decades to establish. The thought that this will in some way persuade the people of Marchwood that the development of an industrial park (on an existing green field site) to be attractive is preposterous!

Marchwood already has up to 600 lorries a day going to and from the indistrial estates. Barker Mlills will promise to upgrade the roads to minimise congestion but that will not stop the noise generated by even more traffic. I have lived in marchwood for 50 years and have seen so many changes most of them to the detriment of the village. This latest idea is one of the worst. This is why we must ALL PULL TOGETHER. To fight this plan people must realise that it will affect everyone who lives in the area or uses the local roads. .

Barker Mlills will promise to upgrade the roads to minimise congestion but that will not stop the noise generated by even more traffic. Marchwood has to stop becoming the dumping ground for Industrial projects that only profit the landowners & businesses. This cannot be allowed to happen.
