For the safety and happiness of Sigonella residents' beloved dog population, we suggest a dog park be erected in an available area in Marinai Housing.

Many residents use the baseball fields to take their dogs off the leash and let them roam free. Unfortunately, the baseball fields have holes in the fencing where dogs can escape, and in the past this has contributed to safety concerns with loose dogs that are not friendly to other dogs, or even people.

Having a safe, controlled environment to let residents' dogs socialize and play will:

1) Eliminate the use of the baseball fields for a dog playground.

2) Reduce the number of loose dogs in Marinai housing.

3) Foster a friendlier environment among the Marinai dog population.

4) Create better morale for Marinai residents.

The upkeep and maintenance of such a facility (i.e. cleaning dog feces and maintaining a water trough and fencing) would be the responsibility of Marinai volunteers.  Marinai residents would even consider raising funds if they are unavailable for this venture.

All dog owners would be responsible for their dogs and all vaccinations would need to be current for them to participate.

For questions or concerns, please contact Bonnie Miller at 624-1507.

Address: 2223-B Verona, Marinai.
