Though I love animals I strongly believe that animal testing in the medical field allows the human race to survive and thrive as it does. If it were not for animal testing in the medical field, I think many of us would not be alive today. Many of my family members have suffered and continue to suffer from a variety of diseases: Dementia, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Cancer. I recognize the importance animal testing has in taking great strides towards findings cures and treatments for these, and many other diseases. I propose to raise awareness about the importance and need for the continuation of animal testing so that my family members and others who suffer from the same or other diseases, will be able to seek medical help made possible by animal testing, both now, and in the future.
