If you live in IRT, HPT, GPT or Algonquin, FAU requires you to have a meal plan. If you don't add one, they will add one for you ($1400) and a $40 late fee for it. FAU is the only school in the state of Florida who requires its residents to have a meal plan. With microwaves, toasters, George Foreman Grills, Coyote Jacks and the Food Court, we have more than enough means to eat and eat well without the cafeteria. The cafeteria offers plenty of food and without meal plans, students would definitely go to caf but it should not be forced upon us.
