I think it goes without saying that we need mandatory sentencing for these predators. It is not fair that people who cause so much hurt and demolition to a person/s are left back into our communities so easily without sentencing or after serving a worthless sentencing undeserving of their crimes. 97% of sexual assault cases that make it to court result in no conviction and that is a fact, a startling fact! The majority of people in Ireland have the attitude that our justice system is far too lenient with these predators. A victim will forever suffer at the hands of their attackers, that is a punishment within itself for those abused without adding to their wounds be setting their abusers free or not keeping them away from our communities long enough. So why not stand up for those who have been harmed they need closure and, that is something with the help of our nation I hope to provide. With YOUR signature YOU have the chance to seek justice for all those who have suffered not only the abuse but having to face their attackers in court and see them be set free or being given a sentencing NOT worthy of their crimes. It is time for change.

Send an email to your local representative today to demand they prioritize mandatory sentencing legislation. We need to keep the pressure on until the system reflects the severity of these crimes.

Reaching this milestone proves that people are finally ready to demand real accountability for these crimes. Now we need to turn this energy into action by emailing your local TD to demand they support mandatory sentencing in the upcoming session.

100 percent agree. zero tolerance is the only way to deal with this.
Too many people getting off with nothing while the victim has to live with it forever. The system is completely broken and needs to change now.

its about time the laws actually protect victims instead of letting these monsters walk free after a couple of years. disgusted by how the courts handle this.
