Today we have alarms in cars that alert us if we leave the doors/trunk/windows etc. open. In addition, we have navigation systems that take us where we need to go, and heated seats to keep us warm. How about a true necessity? A car alarm that save lives from deadly carbon monoxide fumes. The latest tragedy occurred last week in Newark, NJ during the 2016 storm where three members of the Bonilla family perished. Mr. Bonilla was heating up his car and trying to shovel his car out of the snow. Mrs.Bonilla and their two children were inside the car trying to get warm when the exhaust pipe was blocked by snow and the occupants of the car succumbed to the deadly fumes. Research shows that 20,000-30,000 people are affected by carbon monoxide poisoning every year. Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs after too much inhalation of carbon monoxide (CO).Carbon monoxide is a toxic (poisonous) gas, but, being colorless, odorless, tasteless, and initially non-irritating, it is very difficult for people to detect. Please help me stop these senseless deaths and sign my petition.
