Tennis at the Park has been in a conflict of interest for years. Let's make the process fair and let's make tennis fun again!

Victoria Park is a symbol in Charlottetown. It is beautiful, peaceful and open to the public to enjoy. Privatizing the tennis courts excludes many from learning and enjoying tennis at all levels. It will go against the spirit of inclusion within our beautiful park. The answer is clear.

This is so important for the equity of the tennis teams in Charlottetown.

Share the prime court time equally. The Charlottetown courts are not for private business. Tennis PEI should require the new technical and executive director to monitor court time.

The city needs to re-evaluate the consequences of its decision. Victoria Park Tennis courts should not be under the control of a private company.

Please do not turn over operation of the Victoria Park tennis courts to a for-profit organization. The only other significant collection of tennis courts in Charlottetown (The SPA) are already Privately-operated. Keep the tennis courts located within a public park...Public!

The City of Charlottetown should think in expanding current facilities and keep them public. Contracting private companies to manage tennis courts should only be done for new courts, where private capital would be essential for building them. Even in that case Charlottetown residents should have access to that facilities.

It is critical for the future of tennis on the Island that people put aside personal differences and work together. Whether for casual play, or competition, we rely on a collaborative effort to create a happy, healthy learning environment for our children. Above all else, the joy of the game of tennis should prevail as the key focus here for everyone to work together as a team.

Until September 2015, I held Brian Hall in the highest esteem. My Jack son idolized Brian as a coach, an employer and a mentor. Jack is the top ranked junior tennis player in the province and he has trained with Brian since 2010. He worked for Tennis at the Park as a coach during the summer of 2015. Brian's actions over these past six months are extremely disappointing. He has used his position as the owner of Tennis at the Park and as the tennis manager at a private facility to marginalize (and cause significant emotional distress to) a group of children who simply want to play a sport that they love with a coach who is not Brian Hall. Now, to hear he may be planning a similar scenario at the public courts at Victoria Park is an injustice that cannot stand. I emplore council to do their due dilligence and make the right decision. I would be pleased to discuss the details of our highly negative experience with Tennis at the Park over these past six months with any councillor or interested citizen who wishes to contact me.

I'm very disappointed in both Brian Hall and Tennis at the Park, along with the City of Charlottetown. Instead of trying to help grow tennis in PEI, they are only hurting it. If this happens, 75% of our tennis Canada Games team will not be able to train at all this summer. It was bad enough we could barely play at a private club this winter, but I feel that not being able to play on PUBLIC courts is just wrong.

I don't believe the City has the authority to sign a contract for commercial operations within the Park under the Cotton agreement.
