The massive powerful companies are now effectively enslaving the independent producers as they have pushed out all other avenues to market. Its all gone way too far. The big supermarkets know that their cutomers have a limited opportunity to shop elsewhere so even with the will of the customer to support the producer the Supermarkets have too much of a hold to need to concern themselves about public opinion, as they know the mass shopper won't be able to effectively boycott in protest. It is a terrible and unjust situation which needs Government direct Intervention I think.

We must support our farmers and stop them from going out of business. What the supermarkets are doing is disgusting and should not be allowed to continue.

I always buy organic, British milk and I want to be able to do so for the foreseeable future, but the shocking way our dairy farmers are being treated at the minute means that they may all go out of business. I certainly don't want to have to buy milk from massive farms in Poland or indeed any other country. Just imagine being a dairy farmer in this freezing weather, going out to care for your herd and knowing that you will be paid 10p less than it has cost you to produce every litre of milk. They deserve our admiration and support.

Yes, the farmers need to get paid more than it takes to produce the milk, but I do hope that will not mean the supermarkets going overseas for possibly cheaper milk.

Think about the long term severity of this farmers need more support and yet the cattle will suffer needlessly after generations of a herd (which most farmers are very proud of) supermarkets just pinch pinch pinch every time WAKE UP PEOPLE PLEASE !!
