Mali Genocide

Like many other countries, the terrorist threat in Mali, a country in northern Africa, is extremely high. In fact, in the years 1990 to 2014, there have been 199 terrorist attacks and 725 terrorism inflicted deaths in Mali. This threat is especially directed towards Christians. Many Malians are fleeing the country to its neighboring countries with their families in order to escape these horrible ordeals. Not only is the terrorist threat a major issue, access to health care, education, clean water, and economic opportunity are prominent.
There are numerous organizations that you can donate or support in order to benefit the people of Mali. CARE is an organization that aims to improve education, access to healthcare, and economic opportunities. In 2015, 13 CARE projects in Mali helped 721,469 people reach food security, education, and consumable water. AID FOR AFRICA is geared towards providing medical services, funding health classes and clean water projects, as well as accelerating economic development by supporting sustainable agriculture and subsidizing loans. AID FOR AFRICA’s program, “Medicine for Mali,” has supplied Malians with medical services and supplies, health classes for both women and children, economic development, and programs for better and cleaner water. UNICEF, another well known foundation, has improved the accessibility of clean drinking water sources by 65.4% since 2011. A government run organization that is partially dedicated to helping countries with terrorist threats is the UN. The UN has sent in many “blue helmets” or “peacekeepers” into countries like Mali in order to protect the civilians of the country, as well as to slightly diminish the terrorist threat caused by Al-Qaeda Militant groups.
It is apparent that the current socioeconomic status of Mali, along with many other countries, is dire. With a small donation or simply showing your support, we are able to come a set closer to eliminating the genocide threats and lack of vital resources in Mali and the world.
