It needs a crossing. End of. I used to cross there all the time when I was in school to go and visit my friends (Mark included) at the skatepark. I've always been a sensible kid and very road safety conscious, but there were always those close misses. This could have been so many people. I also know people who foolishly race down here. A speed camera should stop this. An average speed would be best. I have heard there are plans for housing here in the future - why not make the changes now. I loved Mark so much as a best friend. He meant a lot to everyone. I'd like to see a change made, it costs us nothing but time to slow down; potentially a life not too. Think.

There should be speed cameras at least, Mark Haywood died because of a stupid motorist who couldn't even be bothered to stop. I hope he has nightmares about what he has done and eventually grow a pair and admit what he has done. I go down William Nadin Way everyday to work and on numerous occasions idiot motorists have overtook me at stupid speeds. Let Marks death not go in vain, either put speed cameras or speed humps. PUT A STOP TO SPEEDING/IDIOT DRIVERS

This is a heart breaking incident and The out pouring since Mark's death has touched people whether they knew him or not. However I don't think people can blame the motorist until all facts are known, as i thought he had stopped. Plus no-one wants this to be a lynching. We're all guilty of going too quickly sometimes down this road so I think a speed camera is the best option. If the limit is changed people will still exceed it and they won't put speed bumps on a 50mph road as it makes no sense. There's also one crossing at the Sainsburys end with traffic lights. Speed camera is the best option but it's extremely sad it's took a young person to lose their life in such a way to change things.

Yes this is a very fast road.A motorcyclist was killed some years back on this road too. Something definitly needs doing to try to make it safer.

It does seem to be a preventable death. I know many young people are devastated by his passing, by all accounts he was an incredible young man. It would be fitting for preventative measures to be put in place in memory of him.
