In Spanish classes we are required to take quizzes, with no idea what words should go in the blank. We are required to remember 30+ words to take a 10 question quiz.
Students that currently take Spanish classes, should be able to use a word bank that is written in English, so that the student may be tested on his/her abilities, knowledge, and understanding context to use the vocabulary. Not the words on a list an individual might memorize.
Students would not even remember the 30+ words in English, how would they be able to do that in Spanish? It feels like it's not testing us on whether we actually know the translation for them.
