I want to change the law that requires if you are a caregiver with children you must have training in learning how to care for children with autism.

I am a mom to 3 beautiful boys who happen to have a diagnosis of autism. After my son, Braxton, was denied to be able to attend the daycare at the gym I have a membership at, I vowed to myself that I want to make a difference so this doesn’t happen to other parents and children. I was told that they don’t have the resources available to care for my son. They are only allowed there for 2 hours max and you can’t care for my child for that time. They are not bad children, they have a disability that yes does require them to have more supervision. In 2018 the CDC reported that 1 out of 59 kids were getting the diagnosis of autism. I want to change the laws and requirements that if you work with kids you are required to take a class and receive the education on kids with autism. I believe education is key. I also believe that any place that cares for children or teaches children should always have someone on staff that is trained and educated on kids with autism at all times they are open. I want to make a difference for not only my son Braxton, I want to change this for all children and parents that can relate to what my son and I experienced. Let’s make a difference for ALL!!
