Let's make our roads safe again! Let's make it safe to walk around the streets, and ride around the streets. Did you know that the Moreland Area has the TENTH HIGHEST number of road users killed or injured when compared to the 31 metropolitan municipalities in Victoria Did you know that Moreland has the SEVENTH HIGHEST number of pedestrian casualties, EIGHTH highest number of bicyclist casualties and NINTH highest number of motorcyclist casualties. Our roads are unsafe because people are speeding - plain and simple. Ever tried to cross Lygon Street, which is supposed to be 40 km/ph Ever tried to go walking or riding a bike, without feeling a little bit scared by the speed in which some drivers travel at We need to make it safe for everyone. Each year about EIGHT PEOPLE ARE KILLED, 164 seriously injured and nearly 540 suffer minor injuries on roads within Moreland. The cost to the community of these known casualty accidents is in the order of $45 million per year. It really is up to us to put pressure on our Council to do something about this. What do we want 1- Enforced Speed Limits 2- Greater police presence We simply want people to obey the law when they are driving.
