Surveillance will do no harm to anyone's constitutional rights, and may help prevent harm to the children, their teachers, parents who may be on campus, etc.

Thank you for starting this, Jessica. If there are any future discussions on what these security measures might look like, I would love to come.

I agree that we need surveillance. However, instead of gating the front entrance, I'm hoping for less invasive procedures - perhaps volunteer parental monitoring, or morning sign-ins (although it's understood that this would be a tedious process each day). In any case, I am signing because *something* is needed, and soon.

All for safer school, just need to figure out solutions that won't hamper the Sycamore spirit. I assume a school-wide meeting would follow a petition so not sure if this space is the best forum for hashing out details, at least not at this stage. For now, who wants our kids and staff safe and sound?! Sign the petition.

I surprise there is no surveillance camera in entrances of school. We should monitor come and go for safety. That is basic. I also volunteer to watch kids during their lunch break.

I'm definitely in support of surveillance cameras, and I'd be happy to contribute financially. I'm sure others would be as well!

I'm interested in getting everyone together to talk about all strategies for helping students feel safe and comfortable in their school. Let's do it!

Signing yes for video surveillance, no fences. Surprised there isn't video already . All schools should have that type of monitoring.

What's has been said about "believing there is danger" is exactly why unfortunate shootings, etc happen. Please, get your head out of your asses and take it seriously. If something ever happens to my niece or nephew, you will feel the wrath not only from me but from this amazing, peaceful community. Do your job and stop being lazy.

I personally think that all schools should have video surveillance on campus- especially at the entrances
