We recently moved to Magnolia because it was a safe neighborhood. However, it has much more crime now than when we researched the neighborhood and we're truly disappointed that it has made this turn for the worse. I worry for our children's safety, and that was a big thing I wanted for our new house - a safe place for my kids to play and grow up.

We need proactive policing in Sunset hill and all the garbage left by car campers cleared out.

Magnolia has gone from a safe haven to now we have car break-ins weekly among other more dangerous threats.

The total non-responsiveness to property has created an "open season" in these neighborhoods. Furthermore, RVs and illegal homeless camps are being permitted to pop up anywhere and everywhere they choose. This needs to stop

The Mayor of Seattle is not doing his job. While the population of Seattle has increased dramatically since 2010, Murray has committed to hiring just 100 additional police officers by the end of his 4 year term. The result is an overwhelmed police force and a less secure and protected city. Murray's focus is more on what he and the City Council can do for Amazon and big developers than what needs to be done in our neighborhoods to ensure safety and livability. Unfortunately, Murray and the Council are not up to the job they were elected to do.

I own a business, manufacturing, in Ballard. The illegal Rv parking, dumping of trash and DUMPING OF RV WASTE TANKS onto the streets is a health issue, Property crimes and dumping of needles and rubbish are a constant now on the property. For those of us who live, work and employ others in Ballard the lack of support from the city is veryfrustrating.

The ineffective governmental attention to this specific problem, not to mention the inadequate police staffing and response is appalling.

While I do not live in Seattle , I have lived there in the past. But more importantly, l do shop there.
Granted I feel compassion for the homeless, but crime and reports of crime only make me avoid neighborhoods that I used to enjoy.
This is a Seattle citywide problem and those at the top need to address it------Pronto !

Concerned for our neighborhoods! Why is it ok for RV camping overnight on our streets!?! It's against the law to car camp!! Why don't our police do something about this????? Instead, our meter maids continue to ticket those who violate a 2hr parking sign in our neighborhood, but turn a blind eye to the campers & RVs that park for days and litter our streets with garbage and filth!!!!

The word is out across the country, come to Seattle for a illegal homeless experience.
A recent offer for a tent city permit was refused. They would have to live too near the camps by the freeway? The homeless don't want to live in the same neighborhood? How ironic.

Homelessness, pan handling, drugs, and an increasing amount of crime is impacting the quality of life in Seattle. The city needs to help solve these problems now.
