Make school fun again

Its such a shame some long term great teachers left sacred heart as along with them went -creating school plays, sport, fun and energy. There was once so many things going on and displayed across the school for all to see. We do still have great teachers left who are trying to keep the school going but sadly for me and many other parents its lost a bit of fun. For me the main dissapointments are along with having no sports teacher or any sports activities like we used to have is the sheer lack of displays. If our children are doing great things in school, a play or an outing then where can we see or hear about it? The schools classrooms and halls which were once filled with theyre sporting achievements, school trips, photos awards etc these walls and halls are now empty there is nothing for us to look at, nothing to read no photographs to see its such a shame ... where is the Sacred hearts golden book? Where is the end of term trophy! Where are the star awards merit awards. What do the children achieve. One of the teachers who left used to do a raffle every Friday for most merit s and the child would recieve a small gift, this was great the kids loved it and it was FUN just something as little as it was. We need to be linked onto twitter like other schools to be connected as to what fun is going on what are they learning what are kids achieveing after school. We were promised an interesting after school club activities but all was offered was ipad club and yoga? All very black and white at the minute with rules and red tape overriding the Fun. Which creates a stale uninteresting environment. I miss driving past the school and seeing kids running around the large grass area, relays, hockey, gym and dance and football training, competing against other schools in football, and in cross country and athletics where has this all gone

I think all the activities should be put back into place. There has been enough change in the past few years and it is having a big impact on our children.

The school lacks excitement it lacks fun it's absolutely lacks physical education it's lacks education certainly innyhe mental well being of the kids we should take a leaf out of sandbrook primary school who are a shinning example if happy children active children with bright fun classrooms to show it !!

So saddened by the lack of anythink anymore. Seriously thinking of moving my child schools now that my other child has left because i can only see this school getting worse and im not putting my child through that

The fun factor has to be in school the kids are working hard and seeing very little reward for there efforts kids needs a happy and safe environment so they can achieve there full potential a bit of fun goes a long way

My oldest son mason speck year 2 is forever coming out of school in frustration that he is bored as there is nothing to do anymore he has the lack of interest at school which isnt like him My youngest son harrison speck f1 afternoon is missing out on so much the f1 class was left out of mothers day that is wrong they should be included if f2 can then so should they I think this school has gone down hill since this new head came in also bullying has started to appear again especially at young ages its not nice to witness and parents are letting these bullies get away with it No school trips have happened this year for year 2 or children younger its all about money for the school not what the children want some parents cant afford to pay for movie nights or everytime there is a no uniform day Sacred heart isnt what it used to be anymore and my son mason used to love going to school at the moment i can understand why Also i hate taking my youngest to nursery of an afternoon and im seeimg dinner ladies screaming and shouting at the kids for running a little fast its dam right discusting changes need to be made

Our kids all work very hard and don't get any kind of reward in the way of school trips or after school activities. It's should be a big part of school life and the children should have things to look forward to.

Need more activities, school trips, fun stuff at the school as kids getting frustrated and unhappy when they come home .

I moved address a few months ago and my closest school is overchurch now , I didn't want to move my girls as they have made many friends at SH but I feel as a parent I may have no choice , over church has so much more to offer than sacred heart which is really sad as this school used to be brilliant ,

Sacred Heart used to be such a warm and welcoming school. My eldest has enjoyed her time there over the last 9 years but the last year has been awful. Bullying isn't dealt with quickly enough or effectively enough. There's a huge lack of communication. School trips are lacking. F1 feel completely separate from the school as don't get included in anything. Other schools celebrated the end of sats with ice cream vans, day out for the year 6s - nothing in our school. No school football team etc no athletics - such a shame when Mr Roberts had built up good relationships with other schools. No celebration of achievements anymore that the children are proud of. I could go on but I won't. X

The school is not the same. My other 2 children loved it. But my youngest is not liking it. No fun after school clubs. All good teacher's are leaving and there not replacing them with teacher's who are willing to do fun activities with the children

I feel let down by the school and I am unhappy with all the changes made by the new headteacher. We have never had problems in the past years.

the school has no longer got any welcoming feeling no longer any supportive approach. where is any community involvment all locked away behind the gates. although i have to say mrs birch mrs randels and after school staff are amazing.

I agree that the fun has gone out of the school. Abbie has told me that things such as table tennis is no longer allowed to be played, old fun games such as British bulldog have been banned as some children are not able to play nicely etc. Children need their release just as much as they need to be academic and it is having a negative affect that they are no longer able to do such things.

The rules need to be more clear and not bent to fit .for example school uniform policy was strict but not it's not depending on the teacher! .bullying is dealt with in the most poor way iv ever seen and some teachers actually look like they hate there job !
