I agree, I have recently left the website due to these exact reasons, I used to do quite well but with the changes and unreliable changes from RCP I can no longer waist my money, I would love to come back though if it was a fair bet again.

This would be good for PredictIt and I hope they listen. RCP has serious problems which everyone from Nate Silver to the comment boards at PredictIt complain about. It's time we did something about it.

I applaud this effort and strongly urge that PredictIt take it seriously. I am already scaling back my bets in the polling markets due to RCP's opaque methodology and may withdraw entirely I something isn't done soon.

I made my comment to change from RCP to Huffington Post. I was not familiar with Purepolling.com. Now that I have read Pure Polling's specific rules for obtaining current polling averages (such as always dropping polls after two weeks and listing the exact polls to be used), I think it would be an excellent idea for Predictit to use their polls. It would make predicting less of a gamble dependent upon the whims of interns at RCP and more of an actual prediction market based on knowledge. I thought that was supposed to be the purpose of Predictit in the first place!

I have been asking for Huffington Post polling averages to be included for months! Unlike RCP, they apparently don't have interns who are manipulating the market for their own profit. Huffington Post is much more reliable and consistent in their polling averages.

Currently the predictit.org polling markets are not really prediction markets but gambling markets due to realclearpolitics.com inconsistency and unpredictability. Purepolling.com offers a solution that takes away the guess work and allows traders to predict the outcome of the markets without the fear of RCP's erratic behavior. Rules are clearly set and the polls that make up the average are known. This means traders don't have to worry about losing hundred of dollars when a random poll is used in the average or drops happen right before a market closes. This also allows traders to be more confident in their investments and commit more money to positions that they predict will win. Predictit.org should not be using a site that isn't predictable and purepolling.com is the best and only solution.
If PI doesn't do this right someone else will.
