On 19th January 2015 my 4 year old son was knocked down by a car whilst crossing the road after nursery in willingale road, Loughton. This road is known for its careless drivers due to the width restrictions meaning they have to wait a few seconds to get to where they're going. Thomas willingale school sits on this road and despite the fact that hundreds of children and parents need to cross this road before and after school there are no crossings at all. A school crossing patrol officer had recently retired from her post and a new one has been appointed but after speaking to many parents, we are in the opinion that a proper pedestrian crossing would be beneficial to the safety of not only the pupils and parents of the school but of all people who regularly cross this dangerous road. Please sign my petition to show your support in campaigning for a proper pedestrian crossing to be placed outside the school and for the nuisance width restrictions to be removed! Safety of the Children should come first, a pedestrian crossing would be a great idea and make the area for all safer.
Without a crossing outside the school it will only be a matter of time before another child is seriously hurt this isn't a want it's a need for the safety of all pupils at Thomas willingale

This is so important for the safety of our children the road in question is so dangerous and drivers fly up and down it regardless of right of way bolards
