I am a 1967 NEHI graduate and a grandmother of a student still going there. I can't understand why headphones can't be used during free time outside of the classroom. There is so much stress in school so why is it important to take something like this from them that allows a kid a peaceful moment to unwind with some music. Who is it that sat in a meeting and decided this?

I'm indifferent about the tardy policy because I'm unaffected but this headphone thing has got to go.

Honestly, this rule is stupid. Only stupid to an extent, it's stupid that we can't listen in between classes, or at lunch. I think it's gone too an extreme. However, it makes perfect sense to not be able to use the headphones during class. It has been like that from the beginning but kids don't listen and keep using them in class when the teacher is trying to teach them. It's plain disrespectful to use them during class and everybody should know that. I feel that they could be doing this for the better, besides the fact that we're not aloud to use them in the hallway, or at lunch. That's completely ridiculous, but hey we just have to go through life. This is going to mean nothing when we are out of high school. So we should just drop this and go on with our lives.

Tardy thing I don't really care about, a card will save time. But, headphones during lunch and between classes helps more than hurts. It is the people stuck to their phones, texting or tweeting or snapchating, not the ones listening to music.

They said they want us to socialize more because of headphones block others out. I'm sorry I'm here to learn not socialize✌

Music is a way for kids to express themselves. Without headphones, depression rates of students at our school can heighten. Music is a healthy way to let out your feelings.

We should be allowed to use our headphones ,especially with teacher permission and we should have a say in these policies and we shouldn't be letting a new administrator come in within less than a month and change us.
