This is a wonderful idea, just what we need to create a focal point for the community. In these divisive times anything that brings people together is to be welcomed and Sheen has always lacked a 'village green'. Of course the details need careful thought, taking account of the needs of local people and nearby businesses, but the overall vision is surely right.

A village centre is exactly what East Sheen needs, although it should amount to more than an extra piece of greenery. It needs: 20 mph on all approach roads, single decker buses only and much more responsive pedestrian traffic lights.

great idea! and long overdue! about time to start using planning to bring some life in the village. the next step would be 20mph and dedicated cycle lanes to allow children to cycle SAFELY.
