You hear all the time that shelters are euthanizing animals because shelters are over populated. You see or hear commercials of charities trying to get you to donate or adopt to help save animals. Dogs are considered a man's best friend. Pets are used all the time for health purposes; for the blind, depressed, etc. Pets have problems just like humans when it comes to allergies, cancers, etc. If a person's medical bills reach a certain amount we are able to claim them on our taxes. So why aren't our pet's medical bills tax deductible? We are told we have to have our pets vaccinated yearly and now New Jersey and trying to say you have to have a seatbelt for your dog. I am not saying their food or toys or things like that but any visit to vet, vaccinations, medications or operations and things along that line.
