Make Lunar New Year a district holiday

Lunar new year is the most important holiday in China and many other Asian countries, it represents our essential culture and tradition. We sincerely wish our children could celebrate this most important holiday with us in our district, just like the children already did in New York City.

My kids always miss out on stuff at school when they stay home for the holiday. It would be great if the district just gave them the day off so they dont feel behind.

The Asian families is a large community in the Herricks school district. The Chinese New Year is a most important holiday in our culture, we wish our kids celebrate with our families.

Lunar new year is a very important date in my culture.

We have a large Asian community in the Herricks school district and a lot of families celebrate the Lunar New Year. It should be recognized as a district holiday giving the families time to celebrate together.

The East Asian culture celebrates the Lunar New Year. It is the most important holiday of all to anyone who observes the culture. I believe that many Asian American students although would like to celebrate this special holiday had been concerned about being marked absent by school, therefore had to detach themselves from such important cutural celebration and family event. I sincerely request that this petition for an official day off on Lunar New Year maybe heard.

Chinese New Year is important for our children to be off in oobserved the holiday with close families and friends.

I would like to request Chinese New Year be a holiday for kids!
