The tax payers of Clinton county, and the state of New York should not have to pay the legal fees of Joyce Mitchell for her assisting two convicted murders escape from Clinton Correctional Facility!

I have finalized a formal inquiry to the Clinton County Controller to demand an itemized breakdown of all public funds allocated to this defense. We are now preparing a follow up request for the state comptroller to review these expenditures for potential misuse of taxpayer resources.

Two well paid state employees should be able to pay their own attorney fees. Joyce has cost the citizens of Clinton County enough already.
The Mitchelss make enough money. Taxpayer's shouldn't pay their bills. If we have to pay hers , what kind of precedent does this make.
We the tax payers already payed for the extensive manhunt. They should pay their own legal fees, not "we the people" ... again! For God's sake, get real!
Why is this, just because she is supposedly cooperating? Bull. Let her stupid supposedly loving husband use there house for collateral, take a loan out on there NYS retirement, anything to pay for her crimes, like most of the other people guilty or innocent have to do, Taxpayers like myself and family should not have to pay for this!
New York State has enough to pay for already. She cost us millions of dollars already and she keeps her pension. We should charge her restitution.

She made alot of people live in fear everyday. Also costed the state enough money for all the overtime looking for the prisoners. Make her pay for her own lawyer..

They're people in clinton county working really hard for alot less money and cant get a free lawyer. She helps to put thousands of people in danger makes 57,000 + a year and gets a free lawyer. Something is wrong with the system....
