With his impeccable leadership and planning he has created a safe environment for all citizens to express themselves through unbiased guidance. The goal of this petition is to encourage the government of the city of Greenville to confirm interim Chief Thompson as the permanent chief of police because of his impeccable character, commitment to service, and loyalty to the people of Greenville regardless of race, sex, or religion.

Howie is an accomplished professional and a kind individual. Those of us who have businesses downtown are extremely happy with him- much more happy than with the previous chiefs of police. You would be doing the city a great service by allowing him to remain chief of police.
I have known Chief Thompson for 21 years, during which time he has always displayed three highest character and utmost respect for hoe’s profession and for the city he serves. You could not hand pick a better, more qualified, more deserving, more loved candidate.
I met Howie at the citizen’s police academy. If it was not for him, I would not have been pointed in the right direction for my internship placement with the department. Howie is a great leader and will continue bringing knowledge, dignity, diversity, and strength to GCPD.
I serve on the board of crime stoppers and also work downtown in the city limits. I know Howie well and he truly deserves this position. He represents Greenville as we need to see it and he has more than proven he is the right person for the job!! Give it to him!!
Worked with Howie at GPD for several years. Very stand up guy and if you search and hire from outside you’ll do nothing but continue to destroy the morale of your officers. Do the right thing Greenville city council and Mayor White.
No need to look any further when you already have the best man in the seat!!

Having personally worked with Howie when he was a detective to being commanded and leading beside him on SWAT. You will not find a more committed, dedicated, selfless or honorable person capable, than Howie Thompson.
