Hello,

Over the last few weeks Google have changed the way copyright works on YouTube, now literally any one can make a copyright claim on a video, let it be real or not.

Once a party have made a claim no money can be made on the video until the claim is either disputed or appealed successfully, which can take months! Being an Ex-Content Creator on YouTube I can tell you disputing every claim that is false is a hard process, so hard that even Google have said they don't care about checking anymore and have let companies claim what they like, even if it isn't theirs.

Just last night a two copyright claims were made on my video, because of this my video got blocked worldwide so I got a copyright strike, when I looked into the companies that claimed my video one of them was a Japanese company making choir songs and the second company doesn't exist. Even with this being bad enough as it is other larger record companies like EMI have made claims on videos that are incorrect, claiming the wrong content and then still rejecting disputes.

The biggest flaw with disputing currently is that there is no option to say that the content is mis-identified. It's time to tell Google that we want them to monitor their copyright services and provide proper services rather than letting corrupt record companies and individuals take others hard earned money.

Please join this petition and together we can hopefully grab the attention of Google!
