Make Future LPL fair and Justified
PETITION TO IMPROVE FAIRNESS, TRANSPARENCY, AND PLANNING IN THE LEARNER’S PREMIER LEAGUE (LPL)
We, the undersigned students and participants of the Learner’s Premier League (LPL), respectfully submit this petition to express our collective concern regarding several issues observed during the current edition of LPL.
LPL is meant to be a platform that encourages learning, innovation, teamwork, and healthy competition. However, the experience of many participants has raised serious questions about the fairness, transparency, and organisation of the process.
The following concerns were commonly experienced:
1. Lack of transparency in evaluation criteria
Many participants were unaware of the exact weightage and parameters used to decide the final rankings and top 5 selection. Teams that performed consistently well throughout the journey were not reflected in the final results, causing confusion and disappointment.
2. Last-minute communication and reporting
Important information such as report formats, submission deadlines, and instructions for final presentations were often conveyed at the last moment. This created unnecessary stress and reduced the quality of genuine effort and preparation.
3. Unclear and inconsistent scheduling of presentations
Presentation schedules were communicated late or changed suddenly in certain cases, leaving teams unprepared and at a disadvantage despite their hard work.
4. Visible mismatch between consistent performance and final results
Teams that ranked highly during mid-evaluations and displayed strong dedication throughout the LPL journey were not acknowledged in the final selections, raising concerns about inconsistency and fairness.
We do not raise these concerns out of resentment, but out of a genuine desire to see LPL grow into a truly fair, transparent, and inspiring platform for future batches.
Through this petition, we humbly request that for upcoming editions of LPL, the leadership and organising committee ensure:
• Clear and transparent evaluation criteria shared in advance
• Timely communication of all deadlines, instructions, and schedules
• A consistent and merit-based selection process
• Fair consideration of continuous performance, not just final appearances
• Better planning and organisation to maintain the credibility of the platform
We strongly believe that implementing these improvements will enhance trust, motivation, and participation in future editions of the Learner’s Premier League.
