Voting is so important and this is the least we can do to support it.

It is the responsibility of our community to remove any barriers to voting, so this is a must!!

This is a no-brainer. Because if you prevent people from engaging in their government, you have no brains.

As an Ithaca parent, I fully support this idea. Encouraging students to exercise their civic rights is an import role for the university. Good luck!

We need the ability to exercise our rights to vote without academic repercussions. Without this, students will have to choose between academic success and civic duty, and I don’t think the college wants to stand in our way of exercising our rights. If the college DOES want to stand in our way, they should make that explicit.

While I plan on voting by mail, I also recognize that other students may not have that option. In addition, some students may want to volunteer as poll workers and would benefit from an excused absence.

With many students back in our home states, many of us are opting to vote in person. With expected record-breaking long lines at polling places, it is reasonable that students be allowed to participate in their elections without also worrying about attending classes.

Love the thought, would hate for classes (be it taking them, or teaching them) to stand in the way of anyone’s ability to vote.

Please do the right thing! Voting is a crucial thing, and the college should support its students (and faculty and staff) in exercising our civic duty.

It's the fundamental right for every eligible U.S. citizen to vote in the upcoming general elections. Considering that this is also a presidential election, it's even more imperative that students are allowed to exercise their constitutional rights and participate in democracy.

My parents preferred that we vote in person for the elections so having an excused absence would be greatly appreciated.
