The fact that this train has been approved and financed is mind boggling. How many deaths will follow on these at grade tracks without proper safety precautions….and passenger trains using the same tracks as LNG carrying ones.

We MUST have silent crossings to be able to SLEEP. It is railroad responsibility to do this - not the taxpayer. As they say - it is their line and they can do what they want...

Need more fencing to stop crossing at non signaled locations. It is only going to get worse with the new stations

The inherently dangerous Brightline corridor must be made safer for Florida residents and visitors. Fencing needs to be erected, train speeds need to be reduced in congested areas, and the FDOT must address the hazards of this higher speed train to the public.

Are 110 mph high-speed passenger trains on a collision course with a 40 mph rolling Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) pipeline on wheels? From FRA: "But the unique challenges posed by the rail transportation of LNG require us to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep railroad employees and communities along the proposed routes safe. FEC's proposed LNG transportation routes traverse congested, highly populated areas, with frequent highway-rail grade crossings. Any LNG transported along the proposed routes would eventually share the routes with high-performance passenger trains operating at speeds of up to 110 mph. The complexity of this operating environment requires FRA to conduct a thorough evaluation of FEC's proposal to ensure public safety."

Too many of the crossings are grade level in busy pedestrian communities. Add to that you have a population that surges in winter months who are not accustomed to trains whizzing by at 100 mph!

Safety must be a top priority for Florida’s citizens regarding the high speed trains. Currently it does not appear to be. Force Brightline to attend to this.
