They say "we can do what we want, we own the tracks". That is why this petition says it all. These trains should never have been approved in downtown Stuart.

I am getting more and more cynical as time goes by. I get the feeling that all of these negative happenings like , Costco, electronic signs, unfettered growth, changing comprehensive plan, expanding the airport, allowing 120 mph trains through our downtown area, etc, "the fix is in" and I am wasting my time writing letters, picketing, speaking at meetings giving money, is all a waste of time. Show me where I am wrong.

High speed trains in urban areas will result in fatalities. Save lives. Reduce the speed!

High speed European trains do not cross roads at-grade because it's too dangerous. Our Governor needs to engage in this discussion and get a handle on the risk analysis. Throw the politics out the window!

How could the hundreds of thousand educated citizens and their concerns be ignored and this allowed to happen? These deaths are detrimental to the prosperity of our State and our communities.

Florida wildlife is already endangered and with these high speed trains, the carnage will be a slaughterhouse. Fencing the entire route should absolutely be a necessity and traffic crossovers will be problematic at best. You can't put high speed rail on tracks meant for low speed freight trains. Also, all high speed rails are designed and engineered to absolutely avoid these problems ahead of time by overpasses at crossings and fencing required along every foot of the lines.

Brightline trains going at 100+mpr through Indian River County is a deadly accident waiting to happen. Make the Florida East RR company pay attention to the safety features required.

I live close to the tracks and my friends and family must cross these tracks on a daily basis. I am very concerned for our safety.

If FDOT was as concerned with safety on the railroad system as it is on auto roads, many of those killed on the railroad system would be alive today.
