I have 3 children that I'd like to keep safe. We can't afford to move, and shouldn't have to just to find relief from the violence/burglary. We're technically in Shelby County, and therefore I feel like we get forgotten about because we're on that Bartlett City line... Too far out for Memphis PD, not the responsibility for Bartlett. We don't even have streetlights! Which would be a huge step in safety. Do something. Anything. This is still a decent neighborhood. And everyone deserves to feel safe in their homes.

When I first moved to Bartlett over 20 years ago someone said "Well you know that's the next Raleigh." I sloughed that comment off and went to my new neighborhood and have thoroughly enjoyed living there and have never really had any "major" issues. However, since joining the Nextdoor Oak Forest Hills I have been reading of all the thefts and break-ins, etc. It is disheartening. I realize you can never completely wipe out crime, but we need to start doing more now before things spiral out of control.
