This is a call to manufacturers of Audio and video equipment to work together to ensure interoperability between product lines using AVB, or IEEE 802.1BA-2011.
This would be a landmark achievement, giving consumers many more options from their products. At present many users must use other manufacturer's products, using closed standards such as Dante(tm). If the open standard AVB was used to its maximum potential, this could transform the audiovisual industry and enable so many exciting new achievements.
We call for all manufacturers to work together, issuing firmware updates where possible to radically enhance their product lines to existing and new consumers.
Manufacturers are sticking to their silos while you are waiting for open standards to work as promised. Email your product rep today and demand they push their engineering teams toward full AVB compatibility. We need to keep the pressure on until they stop treating interoperability like an afterthought.
