I spent the last few hours reading through the new comments and honestly it just confirms everything I felt when I first hit submit on this page. It is honestly exhausting getting steamrolled by someone who clearly belongs in a way higher bracket while I am just trying to actually learn the game mechanics. I am still plugging away at drafting a formal email to the developers about how this is killing the vibe for all of us.

I really thought this might just float around in the void but seeing how many people actually feel this frustration is kind of overwhelming and also validating because I was starting to think I was just bad at the game. It is honestly wild how fast people keep finding this page and now that we have this much momentum I think we actually have a shot at getting someone to look at these matches.

Smurfs ruin the games. There is a reason why there is weight classes in different sports. There is a reason why there are amateur leagues and pro leagues in different sports. AND there is a reason why there is a ranking system in CS:GO. Let's use it, and not let pro athletes destroy amateur players!
I agree smurfing has killed cs go matchmaking, I understand the reasons for having a second account but the problem is, the second account has to be reranked, where as just making it the same rank as your main. I have two accounts because crappy internet but both are the same ranks.

smurfs ruin the CS GO experience for everyone and stop any progress with people's skills. It makes me sad when I go into a normal game as Nova Master and usually come top of the team and then one or two games in a row there is an obvious smurf with 150 hours and 1 game who not only frustrates the heck out of you but makes you lose motivation to play the game. This will result in Valve losing out on money from keys and skins etc.
