Seeing the weight of this support behind the academy is heavy but necessary work. I am drained by the resistance we face but this momentum proves we are not fighting alone.

I am very interested in some alternatives to public school, as my child is "crying" out and a very "non-traditional" student who is extremely bright and loves learning, but, not by sitting all day filling out worksheets.
We need this school for our children, We want our children to stay in the community and be taught in smaller classes, It is proven when a teacher has more time with a child one on one they learn faster, Please let the Sparta school come back and our children go to school where they want to be, not over crowed classes.
This community will offer their children and grandchildren a better education for their rural community with project based learning.
Congratulations on your hard work!!! This is going to be a magnet school, a role model for others who want to start a quality agricultural and science based learning opportunity that our kids will thrive in! Wonderful! Why would anyone not want to allow choice. Especially when the school can offer a better education for all for less money? Another great thing about charters in NY state is that they have to take all students and cannot discriminate based on special need. I am very happy that the community is rallying to keep the building open and even expand the uses (via the Community Center). It will be so nice to have an educational alternative that promotes hands-on and active learning - not just lecture. Even though I live over the hill in Solon, I wholeheartedly support this effort in Truxton.
