The general assembly of the State of Colorado declared, in part that
(a) Dogs are one of the most beloved and popular animals in the United States
(b) According to its 2011-2012 national survey of pet owners, the American Pet Products Association estimates that there are over seventy-eight million dogs in the United States, with approximately forty-six million American households currently containing at least one dog;
(c) "Dog Fancy" magazine has recognized Colorado as one of the most dog-friendly states, and Colorado often is listed as one of the top states in per capita dog ownership;
(d) Many Coloradans cherish their dogs and consider them to be members of their families.

please allow dogs to remain unleashed in national forests and parks.
We don't need any more laws especially ones that will stop people from enjoying the trails.

I have two dogs and there is no way I am able to safely hike with both on a leash on most trails. Seven Bridge Trail in particular has some pretty scary parts. If your dog pulls you and you lose your balance it can be curtains for you.
I find most dog owners have extremely well behaved dogs.
There is almost always a problem when two dogs pass each other on the trail with both being on leash. Not a good idea.
Dogs have been off leash all of this time. First they close the trails, now they want to leash our dogs.
If a dog is a problem, I have noticed that the owner does have them on leash. That is the way it should be. Discretion on the part of the owners.

Too many laws , all them to be broken by people who don't care, we need a little more freedom

my issue is with the bikers who come full speed down the trail from St. Mary's trail. Last week there were people with little kids on the trail and the guy was going way to fast and didn't announce he was coming down the trail.

Our dogs deserve the freedom to run around free as they are meant to be. Please no leash laws.

If these dogs are not harmed nor harming others then what's the good explanation for this? Give our dogs some freedom to enjoy our activities with us!

Please no leash requirement for our dogs as they have so much fun running free. It's hard for me to walk as I need to use walking sticks for balance and hard to have two dogs on leashes. In all the time I've been hiking I have not seen wildlife. Thank you.

Within the structured environment of the city, having dogs leashed is important, but it's not natural on a mountain trail environment. It causes dogs to act defensively as other dogs approach.
