We petition the Secretary of State for Transport to refuse to grant any application for road closures in Manchester City Centre to pedestrians who do not pay a fee to any third party limited company or charity. This would have the effect of maintaining the right of way for pedestrians throughout Manchester's Gay Village during the 2014 August Bank Holiday.

We also petition the Secretary of State for Transport to process the application for road closures to traffic for the August Bank Holiday 2014 in time for the Manchester Pride Big Weekend event to take place. Closing the roads to traffic is crucial in delivering this event which has the greatest importance to some members of the LGBT community and our supporters.

Those who sign this petition will have a variety of individual reasons for doing so, which may include;

#Residents who wish to access their homes without obstruction and wish for visitors to their homes to be able to do the same

# Businesses that may be adversely affected by the road closures

# Members of the public who wish to access businesses, charities or other servicesthroughout Manchester's Gay Village without paying a fee
