On the petition, wanting to remove the Confederate statue in uptown Shelby, NC.I'm wanting to get a petition to have it to be allowed to stay in it's home, since 1906.People ,open your eyes, this is a part of our history.Why should it be taken away? How can a statue or a flag hurt anyone? Yes, what happened to George Floyd was unconscionable,but things are getting out of hand.i cannot racist, I gave black friends, and always have.I have black neighbors. I have friends and family in biracial relationships.It is part of my life, as a child, back in the old days, when people still went to pay their Bill's, my mama, use to drive us up to the court square and park to go pay her bills. She would leave my sister's and I in the car, telling us, we better behave, because that soldier was watching us.We knew it was just a statue, but it was part of our life.Let history, remind history ,it only becomes something bad, if we let our mind take us there.
