Given their first (failed) & very expensive attempt at promoting a universal lockbox system why should we want to try again when what we had in the first place (mechanical boxes) worked just fine! I would much prefer to spend ny dollars marketing my sellers properties than to spend it on a lockbox system that only some will use. I'm guessing if you asked our sellers they would agree! They dont like these gigantic, heavy boxes strapped to their doorknobs anyway!

We do not need to line ayone's pockets for "new" lockboxes when the mechanical boxes work well and our clients are satisfied.

Electronic Lock boxes came into being when I came into the business so I was a strong user of them; but I had to invest in mechanical lock boxes this year because our agency was out of electronic lock boxes and couldn't get any more from MREIS, Plus after having 6 EB at once with dead batteries on listings was not a pleasant experience for me or buyer agents wanting to show properties. I found the mechanical lockboxes are more convenient and just as secure as EB.

i have used the mechanical lock boxes for 17 years and never had a problem. they quote safety issues as a reason to us the electronic boxes. show me some stats of agents going into homes w/out permission or theft or vandalism. it doesn't happen.

If it's not broken don't fix it. I have used mechanical lock boxes forever and they effectively serve the purpose.

I believe every agent should be able to choose and use whatever lockbox system they want. That having been said, the agents that want to use Supra lockboxes should have to pay more if they see a value to the product. Having thousands of Maine real estate agents all paying the same monthly fee whether they utilize the boxes or not is wrong. I have never used an electronic lockbox but if I had 20 listings and used 20 electronic boxes I would assume I would have to pay more than an agent that simply needs a tool to access them. Just my 2 cents worth.

Totally against the new Lockbox system! We, especially as Independent Contractors, should always have a choice. Geting back to basics on this issue is the way to go. The money this will cost as a whole can definitely be used in a better way!
