MainActor was a non linear video editing software from MainConcept for Linux and Windows operating systems.

In May 2007, MainConcept decided to discontinue the supply and development of MainActor. In November 2007, MainConcept was taken over by DivX, Inc.  MainActor is no longer officially available or supported.  MainActor was one of the most complete and affordable video editing software available for Linux.

Some individuals already sent emails to MainConcept, then to DivX, requesting to release MainActor source code but without success.  I hope that we, the whole Open Source Community, will have more success by putting all our efforts together.

So, by signing this petition, we ask that DivX release most source code (if not all) of MainActor under an Open Source license so that the Open Source Community can continue to support and improve it.
