Road needs a rethink! As a visitor I always have trouble safely parking. And even if I do get a spot on the appropriate bit of property (limited off road parking) then it can be a nightmare getting back out again onto main road due to cars flying down the road and around a blind bend!

Parking outside the hairdressers is ridiculously dangerous especially as you have to go onto the opposite side of the road to get around them on a blind bend.
It also obscures the exit from Gwynt Y Ddraig (Llest Farm). You have no idea what is coming in either direction without pulling almost all the way out into the road.
Parking should not be allowed 100m either side of that bend. That is where the recent Lorry & Bus crash recently occurred.

Speeding along Main Road and the road leading towards Beddau has been ridiculous since the bypass was installed and only seems to be getting worse. Main Road seems to have become a race track in the evening and on more than one occasion I have witnessed youths overtaking each other at high speeds.
There are innumerable near misses around Tesco Express on a daily basis, particularly due to speeding cars on Main Road coupled with Tesco customers parking illegally on yellow lines. Not a single traffic warden has been seen in the area since these lines were added meaning they have simply become an overflow for Tesco car park causing other road users to have to drive on the wrong side of the road.

There is simply no available parking for residents and from what I can gather from conversations with neighbours, poor planning decisions have been made in the past e.g. in the placement of double yellows to prioritise access to one house rather than to provide spaces for 3 cars on the road or, having the road as a two lane where there is clearly not enough room for this... vehicles then try to squeeze in to get past (scraping cars and knocking off wing mirrors). How about putting residents parking both sides, making the road a single lane and having give way/traffic lights to control the traffic??

Been trying to get something done for years mostly on my own someone is going to die on this road 21 accidents in three years that's, not a norm making our lives miserable seems likd no body cares ,i voulc movd but why should i!!!

The renewed road markings stand out, but more enforcement is required.
ie; cars still parking on zig-Zag lines for hours on end, police vehicles pass & nothing said or done. Part of my council tax goes to police authority, who seem to be oblivious to the idiots we have parking in illegal & dangerous places allover the main road between Llantwit Fardre & Ton-teg.

parking is a real problem and has got worse over last couple years ..more cars per household..upto 3 cars in some.
Neighbours have actually starting arguing writing notes on cars..access to back lane parking hardstands/garages blocked by visitors and shaz customer's..i had to phone police to contact car owner on occasion as both exits were blocked and needed to leave for work.elderly disabled neighbours carers cannot park to attend calls which are timed so not getting full call out time.
On day of last accident said elderly disabled neighbour needed paramedic assistance but road closed off due to accident..plus extra cars parked alongside chris barbers..jutting out narrowing the road!!.i could go on but i think you get the jest of the situation.

I've lived on Llest Terrace for over 30 years, I've seen a lot changes and witnessed some pretty horrific accidents on this road. The latest between the Lorry and the bus was pretty gruesome. I'm one of the lucky ones who has parking to the rear of my property and try to use it as much as possible to alieviate the parking outside my house. There are others who do not have this luxury and have to struggle to park along this road, more often than not, without success.
We would all benefit from residents parking only spaces, one per household with everyone having the ability to organise a second space to the rear of their property.
Shaz's takeaway has a car park at the rear of their property, the employees should at least park their vehicles in this car park so they can leave sufficient spaces for people collecting food.
Speeding is a problem, this has caused most of the accidents. We need speed bumps throughout Llantwit Fardre and in particular, along the Llest Terrace stretch. Cameras are not always the best option as people get to know where they are and only slow down for the stretch of the camara sight.
One further point, double parking; people have started parking on the pavement outside the beauty shop opposite number 8 Llest Terrace, this forces traffic into the centre of the road and when you have busses and lorries running in either direction, this is not safe. There is a need for yellow lines from the bus stops up to the Y Deri junction. And this has to be policed, we are seeing people parking outside the Barbour shop on yellow lines and not being booked. Obviously a lack of policing. This was the cause of the most recent accident.
Apologies for posting a long comment here but this is way overdue, would be good to see improvement is made at long last.

In partiçular, the parking of vàns completely on the pavements at the junction of Y Deri and the main road blocking the sight lines of residents trying to enter the main road who have to pull it blindly into traffic. Also the total disregard of the double yellow lines at the same junction. How long before someone is badly injured or killed. Do something now.
