This petition is initiated by students of Maharishi University of Management in regards to the high fee of laundry machines in dormitory buildings and to petition the school management to provide the machines for free or charge much lower fee.

$1.75 for washing machine and

$1.50 for dryer machine

Total: $3.25 per laundry.

Factors:

1) The school has a dress-code policy.

2) Students have to wear shirt, pants...etc

3) In hot weather, one cannot wear a shirt more than once or twice.

4) Students don't have 20, 30 shirts

5) Therefore, students need to do laundry twice a month on average or more.

6) That is $7.50 per student, per month.

7) 100 students will spend $750 per month.

8) Maytag washer & dryer combo cost around $1000 (www.abt.com)

9) For every year these laundry machines existed, students have paid $9000.

10) For $9000, the school could have bought 9 full laundry machine sets for 9 dormitory buildings.

Therefore, we, the students, are hereby petition the Maharishi University of Management to provide FREE laundry machines OR lower the price to a much reasonable price for students.
