Macy's Minneapolis 8th Floor Holiday Display: Change It Again

The Macy's show has been a family tradition for 30 years. We would love to see it go back to the Marshall Fields and Daytons days of changing yearly. It has created wonderful memories for my children and it would be terrific to share that with my grandchildren. Please Macy's loosen the purse strings.....it will more than pay for itself in attendance and customer loyalty.

Please! Such a great memory, going to the different displays over the years for both myself and now my kiddos. It's such a bummer to see every year that it's going to be the same one again.

We all want to see a different theme every year. The kids count on that! That's the magic of Christmas. All the wonder and excitment of something new and beautiful that represents each and every child in a different way! Stop being so selfish and cheap!!!

Please! It has been a holiday tradition, not so the last few years. Please something new!!

The 8th Floor display has been part of our family tradition for many years. It is a shame that we will not be continuing this tradition since the store feels the display is not work supporting.

Change it! Used to be family tradition to go and get Santa pics shop and eat at the oak grill but we are sick of the same story!

I used to love the new displays!

I live downtown and have made it to the display every year I've lived here. The last few have been "ho hum" because it's boring seeing the same thing several years in a row. Macy's considers Minneapolis among its "flagship stores". You'd think they'd invest a little money to bring more shoppers in with a top-notch display. I'm thinking on par with Gaylord or Bellagio. Obviously on a much smaller scale...

My mom brought myself and my siblings here every year from when we were young to throughout high-school. I've seen so many different story's at the 8th floor. It's one of my favorite things to do during the holidays. Now that I'm older, I find myself going to the 8th floor to share that experience with my girlfriend. II told her so much about the great displays and story's I got to experience. Now that it has not changed in years, and likely won't change, I see no point to go downtown even during the holidays. No one wants to experience the same story over and over. It needs to be re done. Heck I would even pay to come to it if the story changed. Charge 2 bucks to everyone coming to help fund it.

Please change the display every year as was the Daytons tradition!

We are the pajama family and we have gone every year for 25 years and 10 of those in our PJ's. They are a business and can make their own decisions but we would like it changed. Maybe a few different displays and they rotate it each year. Thank you and Merry Christmas

I loved going there but after the second year of the same thing I quit going. I am not going to drive s little over a hour to see the same thing so I will keep shopping somewhere else.

It needs to change!! My kids don't even wanna go anymore!!

Please bring back the Jack Barkla shows and stop with the day in the life of an elf.

Please! Please! Please! I remember loving this tradition as a child and getting to look forward to something new every year! Now we are sharing this with our kids, but it's not the same. Keep us coming back.

I remember to going to all of these since 1980 and looking forward to this every year. Now with it being the same old same every year my kids don't care about it and it might fall off our traditions

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ASS THE OLD TRADITION BACK, WE HAVE DONE IT EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS AND WE STOPPED GOING BECAUSE IT WAS GETTING BORING SEEING THE SAME OLD THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN

Please for goodness sakes start changing the display like it always has been. I mean they couldn't have thrown the other years displays away like The grinch one etc. at least rotate those Through instead of keeping the same One every year. This has been a family tradition for almost 30 years now and I don't think it's going to last much longer if you keep this up which breaks mine and so many other families hearts.

Please return to the tradition of doing something new each year on 8th floor. Visiting Dayton's 8th floor each year growing up truly created some of the best memories from my childhood. Once starting a family of my own, we continued the tradition of going out for a special dinner and then Dayton's or Marshall Field's 8th floor with our children. Sadly we no longer venture to downtown Minneapolis with the really not so interesting, never changing "The day in the Life of an Elf". Create some jobs for some creative people! Let them come up with new and fun displays. Please change your display. You might be surprised at how well it works out for your business.

CHANGE IS GOOD! My dad has attended every year since his birth (67 years!!) and I have attended every year myself (40 years). It's a wonderful tradition but was much more enjoyable and fun when the themes changed. Come on Macy's!! Bring back the fun! The elfs are getting tired... Very very tired.
