The Maccabeats are Yeshiva University's a capella group. Their debut album, Voices from the Heights, sold out its initial CD run in 48 hours. They've got millions of YouTube hits! Glee is Fox's smash hit musical show, following the trials and tribulations of a handful of glee clubs, including an a capella group, The Warblers, with millions of viewers each week! I want The Maccabeats as guest stars on an episode or episodes of Glee. HERE'S WHY THIS MAKES SENSE! 1a. The Maccabeats are a Jewish a cappela group. Glee has at least three Jewish characters, two of which are major. Several episodes have touched on Jewish and/or religious themes. 1b. Really, the Jews have been getting the metaphorical red slushy in the face for all recorded history, so there's that. 2. Glee has already had one guest star that rose to fame as a YouTube sensation, Filipina singing sensation Charice Pempengco. 3. It would be super easy to write them in... they could be a rival showchoir at regionals/nationals/etc. Now, I realize that some of the more Orthodox members of The Maccabeats may adhere to the Jewish law of kol isha, meaning that they can't listen to a female soloist sing... this is a minor hiccup. I haven't OK'd this petition with the group or the show. I just want to see how much support we can drum up! MACCABEATS ON GLEE. TELL YOUR FRIENDS.
