Not much free London. Not much rock around either. Helluva way to trash that.

This 'landscaping' has managed to choke the boulder and was done without thought or could consideration. It should be restored to its original state and the cost would be minimal.

Consider the beauty of this artwork as it was intended to be sited and restore it. Make a note so that similar errors are not committed in future. This is your responsibility for the artworks in your care, Hackney Council. Simple.

It is saddening that this petition needs to happen. Hackney should have acted immediately when their mistake was first pionted out to them.

In the name of the beauty of looking and the beauty of doing the damage to this artwork needs to be reversed. It's a shameful destruction of something of rich value to the public. Please reverse this damage!!!

These landscaping works seem to be as damaging as they are costly. I hope that the this situation can be remedied, out of respect for both the artist and the people who make use of this boulder.

Another example of the nanny state. Anything is dangerous if climbed! People are perfectly capable of doing their own risk assessment. Get a life council !

The landscaping works change the integrity, visual aspects as pieces of artwork also these offer climbers to experience a unique opportunity and challenges. The landscaping has a negative impact on these community facilities.

The changes made to the work by the Council have severely compromised this important work. It seems that the Council have completely missed the point here- please respect the wishes and the original intention of the artist John Frankland!

A seemingly ill considered act of disrespect.

We love this work and the way that it was installed in Mabley Green was a key element of its significance as an artwork. The new landscaping is utterly unsympathetic to this and additionally renders it unclimbable. It needs to be restored to its former state!

I have fond memories climbing these during the summer. The damage is a massive shame. Let's hope the council can return it to its former glory!
