MA Users - Pre-visualisation parameters urgently needed

Agree this is a problem but no idea how to solve it. The idea of some kind of "vis-PU" (could be a dongle, not a rackmount unit) seems like it could have potential given the prevalance, and superiority, of other visualisers out there!

As a long time MA2 user, making the switch to MA3 with it’s similar lack of third-party visualization/parameter support without a huge investment in additional hardware (NPU’s) is a basic need for designers to adopt and propose use of the platform.

This is becoming a serious issue, looking after previs for a rental company with a large amount of MA hardware, Lds want to be able to use the software their most comfortable with. For larger shows requiring lots of parameters this just isn't feasible on MA2 unless your a wyg user. MA3 moving forward desperately needs a solution for parameters across all visualisers, Lds needing racks of PUs just to do previs isn't cost effective or a logistically manageable solution if LDs want to do weeks of programming at home. As visualiser technology has moved on drastically over the last 10 years, the ideal solution would be a way to unlock previs parameters across all visualiser platforms for MA2&MA3

This is a great suggestion. The industry is changing day by day and it would be good to see MA follow and catch up.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I feel MA3D is becoming too limited to visualise my bigger shows. As a capture user it's frustrating to only be able to previz a part of my rig on MA before getting into the venue. I've often chosen a different console over MA for a show purely because I had a much more economic and practical way of granting lots of channels / universes in that software using channel hardware dongles than I do in MA. I also love my 'other' console that uses a dongle over needing large console hardware boxes to output hundreds of universes from just my laptop. Being able to plug a laptop in at the stage to flash through a rig without all the boxes / wings attached before the console get's setup or output full universe counts to a visualiser has saved me a lot of time in the past.

Prepping a 12000 parameter rig with a commandwing would be nice indeed... just for previz... Don't need the hardware parameters

Definetly, I wasn't so cerncerned, I told myself, I'll keep doing my visualisation on MA2, then covert the show to MA3 when needed... But it will suck, because conversition might no going to be accurate, and evenif it is, will still have to reprogram things only available on the new system on site... Which is slightly dumb.

Ma is the best... but other systems maybe thinks in better solutions for her users.

We are about to transition from our current platform to MA3. This is an important point for us as we are heavily dependent on pre-production.

As dedicated user of WYG, Vision and MA3, this is extremely challenging. If you want to move forward with MA3, (and not have people stuck on 2 forever), this will need to happen.

Please listen to us! We all love MA, we all want to use MA desks for our shows, no one wants fake desks in market place but we need to be able to pre viz shows without NPUs!

To be able to carry on using this platform we need this to be sorted

Level the playing field for all visualisers, allow creativity without racks of NPUs.
