We in the lighting community who use MA2 + MA3 really need this problem solved. If I want to program all my lights on a laptop at home, I can’t. If I want to update my show on the bus or in a hotel room on my day off, I can’t. Even in a studio or lighting shop office, without extra gear, I can’t. Because MA Lighting limits the number of usable parameters without physical hardware, and forces us to plug in ranks n racks of MA branded computers essentially to “unlock parameters.” PLEASE help sign this petition to make parameters unlimited and free as long as being done in a virtual environment. PLEASE!! We need this now more than ever.

Currently Visualiser of choice would be Capture but also Depence2 is looking impressive. MA3D is a great tool, but not a client-friendly one, and we’d like MA to focus on the programming and control which is second to none, and let the visualiser companies focus on the visualisation.

Whilst I agree this 100% needs to happen, I do understand the issues from MA's end. They need a way of allowing Visualizers to interface with MA, using a widely available protocol, that can't be high jacked to allow nefarious users to circumnavigate the parameter hardware limitations.
However given the fast paced, and high demands of our industry, I think this is something MA needs to prioritize a solution for, several spring to mind, they just need finessing.

MA should support the wider user base as most other manufacturers do.

Totally into this idea, as I do a lot with L8 & it kills me I can only make it work w/MA if I have a piece of MA hardware - which I actually do have (an old 2-universe node) but it only unlocks 1024 parameters & is therefore insanely limiting. I haven't run a rig that small since 2007.
