Fairpoint is the only option for internet in my location. With its unreliability and poor service, how am I supposed to work from home?

I run my own business out of my home office and on many days out of the year my internet connection/speed is so poor I have to leave town to work elsewhere. We really need dependable and modern internet infrastructure.

I relocated my business out of Lyme due to unstable internet. The estimated revenue loss to my business due to inadequate internet connection since 2013 is about $50,000. One of my employees lost her job due to the relocation. The economic impact is substantial & fiber must be considered for Lyme, NH residents maintain employment and keep businesses competitive.

The Federal Communications Commission issued a report dated Feb. 4, 2015, in which they "conclude that meeting the definition of “advanced telecommunications capability” requires consumers to have access to actual download (i.e., to the customer) speeds of at least 25 Mbps".
That is the standard we should aim for.

We badly need fast and dependable DSL! This is a plea for business as well as for civilized living. I run two websites and a business. The state of New Hampshire must support its small businesses to keep it a financially viable. In addition, personal happiness and security in this day and age is dependent upon dependable web access.

Our internet is much slower than we pay for at Fairpoint. Even after calling them it doesn’t improve for long. We need the internet for work. Its really frustrating! Please improve Lyme’s internet! Thank you!

Our DSL service has been erratic at best and nonfunctional at worst for years. Unexplained slow downs and lengthy failures are a regular occurrence. Fairpoint has been unresponsive to our issues. Often ignoring requests for service. The town is badly in need of infrastructure upgrades. Feel free to contact me for more details:

We can go to the moon and back but our government has not facilitated the development of high speed internet in all areas of our country for education, business and communication.
