16 year olds are much more aware and informed of issues effecting their own country and what we as a country contribute to worldwide situations. They have a right to vote - it is their future that is being decided.

Young people are sometimes the most analytical ones around! Let them have a say and a chance to change this country!

As it is their future then young adults should definatley be able to vote. Young adults are often under-estimated I knew my own mind from 7 and was politically active by age 12. I would happily support this and even to age 14 years old. Currently we are being ruled by retired people voting with fear; rather than the ones (having to live and work with what results), that at least have aspirations and hope. Lets give it to them.

I believe 16 year olds do have the right to vote, after all some 16 year olds demonstrate a far greater understanding of current issues and issues that are important for the future than many adults. If you can pay tax you should have a say in how that money is spent.

I definatley believe that 16 year olds have the capacity to know as much as any adult about politics and the political process, that being said 16 year olds also have the capacity to be inappropriate and childish so a method of proving motives for voting or a test on political knowlegde for 16/17 year olds when they vote may be a good way of preventing those people who do not take the responsibility seriously from affecting the results of the election.

As long as they are reasonably informed and educated about politics within school and are able to vote with reason, then it would be a good idea to allow people to vote, when it is more based upon their future.
