PROJECT 16 is a pressure group campaigning for film ratings to be lowered from 18 to 16.
In the
United Kingdom there are age restrictions for films to prevent children and
teenagers from watching certain films that contain features that the government
do not think is suitable for younger viewers. The age ratings are as follows:
U; PG; 12A; 15 and 18. Our aim is to lower selected cinema ratings however we
are just concentrating on lowering 18 down to 16 as we believe that 16 year
olds are mature enough to watch restricted films.
