Literally I've been revising every day for maths since March, intensively. I was so confident when I came out of the exam! I told everyone I reckon I did well, which is something I wouldn't normally say. Later when I saw the leaked paper, it shook me up so bad. In March, I got a D in my maths, I was always getting tem. I commited tremendously and last month (a few days ago) I got my first ever B.... Which was 5 of an A! I can honestly say I've never been so proud of myself... But I am literally distraught now knowing that my commitment and newly found knowledge was going to pay off. I can only hope to improve on the calculator paper, but my confidence has been knocked unbelievably and now I am thinking what is the point because I'm going to think I did well, when I didn't. It's honestly getting to me so bad because our lives depend on this (well they have a huge impact) so I really think we need a helping hand, as we are not the ones at fault. I have risked my health and social life for this exam, thats why its so annoying! My mental health is deteriorating rapidly therefore am unable to go to school unless for exams, so I've spent all my time and energy studying at home all day everyday for maths! (Because that's the subject I needed to improve on) we all have different reasons for signing this petition, and I know a lot are looking at the whole thing like I joke. We can laugh about it, but in all seriousness it's going to hit is on result day and make us vexed on our retake days. On behalf of the majority who took this exam, please make it possible so people can get C's when they deserve to. There were some really petty, unrealistic problems which just shouldn't count. But for all our hard work, PLEASE lower the GRADE BOUNDARIES so most of us have a shot!

My school is one of the best in the country and my target grade is a high b/low a. My teacher is known as the best maths teacher in the subject, hence she's she head of maths. NEVER have I seen questions like it and I believe the first FEW questions were level A/A*. Unfair, unreasonable and extremely difficult for 15/16 year olds to endure such an exam with no prior knowledge of such questions. My best friend had to be taken out because she couldn't breathe as she was crying her eyes out, why did they do this? Unless 20 marks is a good C I'm even going to consider suing them. It's absolutely ridiculous, most of the country SHOULD NOT be forced to redo the exam next year while dealing with sixth form or college, if we MUST pass maths, make the exams easy! It's bloody GCSE!! In times I like this I wish I did foundation tier. Bloody ridiculous I hope edexel are ashamed of themselves!!!

I agree, some questions were either not clear as to what we had to do or just almost impossible

Completely ridiculous questions towards the end, kills me to know my future depends a lot on the results from that excruciatingly difficult exam paper.

This exam was disgustingly hard, which had already been established in May, and when told to change it nothing or not enough was done. I wasn't hugely confident about maths anyway, even after revising, and now this exam has knocked my confidence further for the calculator paper and all other exams I have left. Surely if maths is one of the important gcses something should be done to lift the appalling grades that now seem guaranteed Nationally?
